One of the multitude of ceremonies that taken place on 13th June 2009 on saturday at both the bride (kavita) and groom's side (Pritesh) before the actual wedding day.
Pithi ceremony comes in once in life. Pithi is paste that made out of chickpea flour, turmeric, rose water and other ingredients. Since ancient’s times, Pithi ceremony is celebrated both bride and bride groom home separately. This entails rubbing a paste on bride and bride groom’s face, hands and legs. The paste when rubbed on is excellent for the skin and evens out skin tone. Family members and friends often times have fun getting the bride and groom completely covered in the paste.
There is a belief that If bride or bridegroom rub pithi to someone who is matured and unmarried, then it increase the possibility of getting married for unmarried person.
