Summer Picnic intend to provide the safest, most exciting and memorable experience. We (14Gaam Patidar) organized with full of fun and growth. Every year no of people increased, is sign of success of summer Picnic. It is opportunity for Kids and teens to make their friends from our community, not just kids and teen but i would say it's opportunity for every one to get to gathering under a common platform to evaluate brotherhood.

Summer picnic was scheduled on June, 14, 2015, starting 10 AM to 8 PM at New Jersey most favourable place Merrill County Park. It was served with Methi na Gota, Jalebi, Chips, Soda and Papdi no lot. Later after 3 PM patidar's have enjoyed chilled water melon under shadow of trees while chit-chatting with friends. Dinner was served by Chhole Puri, Rice and Dal Fried. Also many other activities took place like Cricket, VolleyBall and also they played everyone's most favourite Garba. Kids got an opportunity to explore nature, find new talents by trying new activities and making friendship within community.

It's progress of the community that every year more and more people join in community event. It was about 500 people joined this event. Summer Picnic was started about 11 years ago, first picnic sponsored by Vishrampura Patidar Samaj follow by every Gaam took initiative to organized picnic and it's still continuing. Last year it was about to end this tradition of picnic but again Vishrampura Patidar Samaj took effort to continue this get to gather event for our community. 

We are fortunate enough that we see people wearing saffron color of cloths and come across to our event and shared some valuable knowledge in United States. There was monk from India came to United Sates and found him in Merrill Park in our event explain benefits of Yoga where week later 21st of June is the longest day of the year, was declare as International Yoga Day. When  Honourable Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi came to USA and appeal in UN to declare International Yoga Day and 177 the union co-sponsored the United Nations resolution to declare International Day of Yoga, which is one of the great achievement every Hindu). 

He explain benefits of Yoga that- "Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science for healthy living. The word “Yoga” is derived from the sanksrit root “yuj” meaning “to join”, “to yoke” or “to unite”." Also explain benefits of doing Yoga in his short participation in our summer picnic.

During this gathering with collective effort to motivate youth of Patidar of US, come up with idea of honouring school/high school and collage topper student of Samaj by shield or certificate every year. For that a representative of each Gaam took responsibility to look over topper student and collect as much information and possibly get award which can help growing our community smarter. Name of this initiative "Intelligent NRI Samaj" You can find name of the person of each gaam whom you can contact for further information. 

We are still looking for Rupiapura, Fagni, Naman and Vadeli Volunteer for collecting their gaam topper student list, They can either contact Hitesh Patel (Bhavanipura) or Bhupendra Patel (Ishrama).

During this Picnic, Shahpur Patidar Samaj declared their sponsoredship for "Diwali Party 2015". As we all know all gaam have sponsored Summer Picnic and Diwali Party once. Unlike others Shahpur Patidar Samaj came on front to sponsored Diwali Party, which is one of the great news of us, and hoping that we will continue this tradition for get to gather twice a year.
