Amisha Patel is a leading Bollywood actress who has done a couple of films in Telugu as well. She is originally from Charotar, her father was living here in Sarsa. She received great accolades on her debut movie titled ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Haai’, which was released in the year 2000. The movie was against the ace hero of Bollywood named Hrithik Roshan. The movie earned her a Filmfare Special Performance Award. It was the biggest hit movie of the year and she also bagged the Best Actress Award.

Amisha Patel was born on the 9th of June, 1975 and is presently 39 years old. Her parents are Amit Patel and Asha Patel. She has got a younger brother named Ashmit Patel. Ms Patel is in fact the granddaughter of the famous lawyer cum politician Barrister Rajni Patel. He was a member of the Congress party. Amisha was born in the Breach Candy hospital in MumbaI. She is also a trained Bharathanatyam dancer, since the age of 5.

She did her schooling in Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and went on to do her higher studies in the field of Economics. She completed her graduation programme at the Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. And she returned back to India and worked in a couple of financial companies. Ms Patel worked in a couple of theatre plays, the debut one being an Urdu play titled ‘Neelam’. She also did a couple of modelling assignments and has appeared in quite a lot of commercials like Bajaj Sevashram, Fair & Lovely, Cadburys, Jai lime, Fem, lux and many more. She was given an opportunity to act in movies by Rakjesh Roshan, as Hrithik Roshan (son of Rakesh Roshan) was her senior at school. She initially denied the offer, as she was barely 20 years old and had just passed out of high school. Kareena Kapoor then took up the lead role and dropped off, for reasons best known to her. Amisha then had to accept the project. And the movie debut turned out to be a smashing hit and tumultuous break in her debut acting career. The movie is that of a college girl falling in love and then losing out her lover and then re-discovering him, as a matured actress.

Her next flick was a movienamedEkPrem Katha. She played the role of a Muslim girl named Sakeena, who takes refuge in Sunny Deol’s house during the riots and finally falls for him. Gadar was a movie taken in the year 2001 and was an average box office hit.
