We always proud to be Gujarati, We know how many states of our country that what we have learned in school and over the period states were increased by dividing a big unmanaged state in to two in order to make progress in form of wealth, art and culture. 50 years ago name Gujarat was not in its existance. Current Gujarat was the part and current Maharastra was the part of Dwibhasi Rastra (its called State of two languages) where Mumbai was the capital. The State's Gujarat speaking civilization was on north and Marathi speaking in south. The current state Gujarat as a result of Bombay Reorganization act 1960.
Finally in May, 1st, 1960, the state of Gujarat was formed from the north and west portion of Bombay state, the remainder being renamed the state of Maharastra. Since May, 1st, 1960 Gujarat has been showing new direction to the nation. Now a days it is continue growing under leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai K Modi.
The first capital of newly found state of Gujarat was Ahmedabad (Amdabad), but in the year 1970 it was shifted to Gandhinagar.
The first ever celebration for Swarnim Gujarat, celebrated in Petlad by Chaud Gaam Patidar Samaj on May, 1st, 2009.
The Ceremony Celebrations has begun in Gujarat. As many as 2,500 NRGs from many countries will come together to perform in Sapta Rangi Gujarat.
