Guru Purnima or Guru Puman (Guru Poonam) is festival celebrated on Ashadh month of Hindu calendar (fall in month of June or July of English calendar.) Guru Purnima is two words, Guru + Purnima, Guru means Teacher and Purnima or Poonam is the day of the month of full moon. It is celebrated in memory of the Gurus who has contributes their life long knowledge to their shishya (students) without any price of the teaching.
