Various Legents of Maha Shivaratri

Lord Shiva great Hindu God. Variously addressed by devotees as ‘Mahadev’ , ‘Shankar’ ,’Shiva’,’Bholenath’ raveling his different spects.Maha Shivaratri “GREAT NIGHT OF LORD SHIVA".Maha Shivaratri also Known as Shivaratri.Every year shivaratri celebrate in regards of lord shiva.There are various mythological legends associated with these day.The most popular legends, Maha Shivaratri Marks as the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.Some Peoples believes that it was night of Shivaratri on which Lord Shiva performed ‘Tandav Nrutya’.Maha Shivratri is celebrated on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Hindu calendar month maagha as per Amavasya-ant month calculation.Another popular legend is that, it was the day on which lord shiva manifested  him self as Linga.

Celebration of Shivaratri

On Maha Shivaratri Many worshippers worship Lord Shiva with flowers, Bilva leaves and other gifts on the Lingam, which is a symbol of Lord Shiva, and bathing it with milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar, coconut water, butter, and rose-water. Devotees strongly believe in Great worship of Lord Shiva on very auspicious day of Shiavaratri. Devotees observe fast in honor of lord Shiva, though may go on diet food, fruits,milk. Strong Devotees do not drink even a drop of water on this day.

Maha Shivaratri Celebration in Gujarat

Gujarat has large number of Shiva followers.Strong Devotees start puja,abhishek of Linga in early morning. Devotees strictly fast on honor of Shiva, arranges Huge functions for Lord Shiva Puja,abhishek by Milk,Roses,Flowers,Bilva.

Maha Shivaratri Celebration in Bangladesh

Maha Shivaratri also Celebrate in Bangladesh. They fast in hopes of getting the divine blessing of Lord Shiva. Many Bangladeshi Hindus go to Chandranath Dham (Chittangong) to observe this special day.

Maha Shivaratri Celebration in Central India

Large Number of Shiva Followers is in Central India. Most Popular and Famous Mahakaleshwar temple , Ujjain where thousand of devotees turns up every year  to offer prayer on the day of Maha Shivaratri.
